Six Years of Looking
The first rule of Coaloc Orphy-watching is that you will never see one when you are looking. Joy had followed this rule for six years, mostly out of necessity, since the alternative was accepting that the creature simply didn't exist. Then, on a Tuesday, in a fluster of abigails going about their ordinary business near the hedge, something extraordinary had also gone about its business โ knee-deep in wet grass, wearing what could only be described as lederhosen, and looking, frankly, unbothered by the fact that it was not meant to be real.
From an ongoing collection of odd stories, work in progress.
